LWN.net SubscriptionsLWN.net subscriptionsLWN.net is a subscription-supported publication. Subscribers gain a number of benefits, including early access to LWN's premium content and various other site features, but the real benefit from subscribing is helping to keep LWN on the air. The subscription model makes LWN answerable to its readers, rather than to advertisers. Sign up now, and help us make LWN a better resource for its readers.LWN offers both individual and group subscriptions. The individual subscription rate is US$5/month; we also offer a "starving hacker" rate of $2.50 per month and a $10/month premium rate. At this time, all levels of subscription provide the same access to the same content; the different levels exist solely for the purpose of accommodating those who wish (or need) to pay a little more or less. There are, however, a couple of site features which are only available to full-rate subscribers: automatic monthly subscription payments and the ability to receive email copies of responses to comments you post. We will likely add other features in the future which are only available to the higher subscription levels. Subscriptions may be paid with Visa, MasterCard, American Express, PayPal, or a check drawn on a US bank. We are working on other payment options, especially for Europeans without credit cards, but it may take a little while yet to set that up. Our base corporate/group subscription offerings are described on this page. We also offer competitive rates for larger groups, and we have a special university rate for educational institutions. LWN is much interested in working with companies who would like to bundle LWN subscriptions with their own products or services. For more information, see the subscriptions section of the LWN.net FAQ, which, we promise, we will be writing very soon now. Gift CertificatesDo you know somebody who should have an LWN.net subscriptions? An LWN gift certificate may be the perfect way to bring that about. Gift certificates are sold for six months ($30) or one year ($60) of subscription, and may be redeemed by anybody within one year of purchase. Certificates may be purchased (with credit cards only, for now) on the Gift Certificate page. |
